The King Fahad Complex (Madinah) is known for the many prestigious works it has commissioned over the years. It has added to its achievements by offering this unique opportunity to an assembly of scholars and researchers to present the fruit of their researches and examinations on the Sayings, Practices and Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) . The paper in hand is entitled ‘A Bibliography on Hadith and Sunnah Writings in English’ and is the humble contribution by the author to this august Conference.
I would never have dreamed on embarking on such an enormous task had I not been given the impetus by the Conference organisers. I thank Allah Almighty that the journey which began by browsing through the bookshelves of the library of the Islamic Cultural Centre (London) in March ٢٠٠٣, and which took me to a number of countries in the pursuit of more information, has finally reached its destination. With only a three-month time limit in which this project had to be completed, my quest took me to the library of the International Islamic University of Islamabad (Pakistan) , various bookshelves on the Mall in Lahore, the small English section of books in the Da،wa office in Bahrain, the library of the King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, and finally the library of the Islamic Foundation in Leicester (UK) .
